In October 2020 in the middle of the Covid-19 lockdown Melbourne Water pumped water from the Yarra River into the long dry Annulus Billabong.

The local birdlife, frogs and mobility restricted humans delighted in the transformation of the billabong.

The longer term ecological results have been excellent and Melbourne Water are hoping to repeat the exercise again this year.
